Cerner's new $4.5B campus comes into view

Cerner Corp. began the installation of its logo atop its new $4.5 billion Innovations Campus in south Kansas City. With each of its eight parts hoisted into place, the sign weighs more than 3,000 lbs.
As phases one and two near completion, the North Kansas City-based health care IT company is preparing to opening the Innovations Campus next month, bringing in about 3,000 employees.
The first two phases include eight- and 11-story buildings, which will host Cerner's software development, engineering and IT departments. Cerner broke ground on the first piece of the project back in November 2014.
The new campus is devided into 16 different phases, with construction extending into 2025.
